Thanks, and here’s to you joining me on this epic and visionary adventure!

Lore’s Reading Order (3)

Okay, so you’ve read Lore of Arcana (Arcana’s reading order here) and Lore of Reaume (Reaume’s reading order here) and you’ve taken a mighty breath (because, hell, after the mighty Dreamer Stones you definitely need to!) and now you’re ready for SANCTUM.

YAY!

Let’s get into it then 🙂

**

The Nemesis Blade

His name is Elianas

Yes, indeed, this is the era of Elianas. You’ve seen the same visions Torrullin has throughout the series about the mysterious Elianas … and now you will find out who he is as we travel an actual Time realm to potentially ‘fix’ an ancient crime.

Main worlds visited in Nemesis: Valaris, Akhavar, Luvanor and Sanctuary

**

The Echolone Mine

The Door to Truth

When prophets see an event and act upon it, it becomes a door covered by rock. When, ages later, mining uncovers it, everything is set to change. This is sacred space.

We move through the ‘verse here, from Valaris to Avaelyn, Luvanor to Sanctuary, and of course – Echolone.

The Nowhere Sphere

A Sphere of Manipulation

Folk should stay dead! But this is the multiverse and realms are travelled, and thus an enemy believed dead arises anew, and he has a bone to pick with Torrullin and Elianas. Prepare for a mighty manipulation in an absolutely nowhere place. Hold your breath too, because something huge emerges and it paves the way for the final LORE book.

From everywhere to Nowhere, the action moves swiftly.

The Master Mechanism

Time demands redress

The entire Lore series delves into Time, but a Timekeeper control the flows. The race for the master clock is on! For the sake of all, this Timekeeper simply must not find it first.

The dedication in this final volume is for the multiverse, because that is where you will find yourself 😉

Lore’s Reading Order (2)

Now that you have Lore of Arcana’s reading order, let’s move on to Lore of Reaume.

In Reaume, most of the characters you have come to know in Arcana are again present. As this part of the greater tale is set more than 20 years later, a few have died and others are relinquished to their own devices. New characters now step forth, as do new adventures. Many of the adventures take place not only on other worlds, but in other realms.

The Kallanon Scales

An ancient map points the way

Valaris is under attack from an ancient enemy, and a map folk die for in the seeing of it, points to the place of confrontation. Enter the race of dragons – the Kallanon. The defenders enter the Forbidden Zone, far from home.

From Valaris to Atrudis, expect mayhem as war erupts.

The Nemisin Star

Destiny stalks the twins

Someone believed dead returns, and sparks war on Valaris once more. Torrullin’s twin sons seek to end their symbiosis. Their father will be forced to choose on the night Nemisin’s Star shines. When ceasefire is elusive, he chooses to enter another realm, thereby forcing an end to hostilities.

The action takes place wholly on Valaris, with a brief visit to Celaver.

The Sleeper Sword

The Sleeper is Awake

Two thousand years have passed for some, while no time at all for others. Time’s conundrum becomes a player and a certain sword is the proof. A new and terrible enemy steps into the ring. Realms of time and place feature now as part of the milieu.

We are on Valaris, with visits to Scortas and Luvanor.

The Dreamer Stones

Soul Labyrinth

As the title suggests, we delve into realms beyond the known, particularly those of dreams, and ancient stones mark the paths. Torrullin vanishes from reality searching for answers, the means to ending the war with the Warlock.

This is a mighty book, the longest of all LORE books. Again, as with Arcana’s 4, there is an ending that concludes the Reaume part of the Lore Series, and yet there are pointers to what comes next in Sanctum.

Lore’s Reading Order (1)

For readers new to the LORE series, here’s the low down 🙂

There are 3 distinct series – Lore of Arcana / Lore of Reaume / Lore of Sanctum – and each set tells the tale in a different time. Yes, this is, in fact, one series (therefore LORE) and yet each set of 4 books tells a separate story. You can pick up volume 1 of any of the three and start reading from there, but if you desire the greater tale, the grand design, I do suggest starting with Lore of Arcana and journeying through to the end of Lore of Sanctum.

Let’s begin with Arcana’s four:

The Infinity Mantle

There is a darkness coming …

This is the ‘meet and greet’ beginning of it all. In this book you meet the main characters as well as a few extraordinary beings, and adventure with them as their mission begins.

The main setting is the world Valaris, with visits to worlds beyond a Rift.

The Kinfire Tree

Kin is everything

The main character Rayne becomes someone unexpected, and it is soon apparent that his story drives the greater tale as well. Prepare for something new!

Again, Valaris is the place of conflict.

The Drowned Throne

Throne of the Valleur

This is the book of battles! Everything ramps up, and the fighting is intense. Here the mighty Valleur Throne is unveiled, to disastrous consequences.

Look to Aqua Island on Valaris for an epic confrontation!

The Dragon Circle

Of Flame and Fire

The final Arcana book is about loss, betrayal and ultimate change. Here Torrullin stands forth, and prepares for the worlds of hurt awaiting him in Lore of Reaume, and yet there is an ending. The Dragon Circle doesn’t leave you wondering!

While the main tale takes place on Valaris, you will visit both Ardosia and Pendulim as well.

Even as the author, I cried. I cried while writing this particular book and when I read it later as a reader 🙂

Lore of Reaume’s reading order follows this post.

After Reaume, make a note of Lore of Sanctum’s reading order too 😉

The 2 D’s

A connection on twitter sent me this message about the Lore of Arcana books:

arcana

I replied that I don’t mind the nitpick at all, but it got me to thinking. Looking at the covers together, I saw what he meant:

31 (2)

If only we can put ourselves way ahead of the game, or at least give ourselves enough distance, in order to view the little things, the overlooked things! Looking at it now, The Drowned Throne would probably be tweaked to avoid the double D. Why ‘Drowned’ and not ‘Dragon’? Because The Dragon Circle cannot be called anything but, while the throne could be submerged, lost, or something …

As writers in the throes of writing, then naming our books, publishing them, often we overlook the synchronicity. Lesson learned!

Thank you, Louis, for drawing my attention to this (glad you like the covers!), for it gives me an opportunity to not only ‘see’ better, but also I am able to pass this on to other authors as an insight 🙂
